Craig Ferguson CBS Late Late Show host is a witty and just plain funny Scottish comic.
Craig Ferguson is equally funny in person, probably more so - his free wheeling style catches everyone off guard and even those who are eating steak while watching Craig has to pause, forkful on it’s way to mouth to laugh out loud at his whimsy.
He shares his daily thoughts in a late evening monolog that is bound to please everyone and offend someone but he doesn’t care!
I f you are in Hollywood, catch the Late Late Show with TV’s Craig Ferguson. The tickets are free and you only have to log on to his web site to secure them. Some of Craig’s impressions are some of my favorites; Michael Caine in Space, Sean Connery, The rather late Programe with Prince Charles are hilarious and make me laugh every time. I really love Prince Charles side kick, but I can’t find out his name. Anyone know?
Craig Ferguson, like Jay Leno is a workaholic who goes on the road every one to two weeks and does standup comedy all over the U.S.A. He even went to Bahrain to entertain the troops who turned out to be the crew of an Australian battleship. Because of heightened security, American ships were not allowed to come ashore to see his show.
In a laugh out loud monologue, Craig told the tail of the drunkest audience he ever saw, and he knows drunks! It seems like the sailors had been out to sea for 4 months without shore leave and they were ready to party. One guy just stood there and yelled, then took a sip of beer and yelled some more. Another sailor was in a fight with two American Police and fought the entire fight while smoking a cigarette.
Craig Ferguson has been doing comedy and music all his life. He grew up in Glasgow, a Scottish Highlander for sure. He wrote, produced and acted in 3 movies, Saving Grace, The Big Tease and Born Romantic to name but a few. He also wrote a book called Between the Bridge and the River which was a smashing success and I am lucky enough to own a signed copy.
I first saw Craig Ferguson at a comedy club in Pleasanton, California. He was hilarious and oh so nice to sign my copy of his book. A brilliant read you have to wonder how much of it is based on real occurrences in his life in Scotland.
Scotland is a magical place. Yes, it does rain there all the time and it’s so cold and so far north in the northern hemisphere that the sum comes up at 10 AM and sets at 4 PM, at least in the winter when I was there. It doesn’t really rise so much as dances it’s way across the sky in a very low arc. It is never directly over your head.
In the coming months I will be adding photos of my trip to Scotland, one of my very favorite travels and more pictures of Craig.
